IHCIT 2026 Convenes in Chengdu, Spotlighting Intelligent Machinery and Human-Computer Interaction

Sep 2, 2026

On August 22, 2026 5th International Conference on Intelligent Mechanical and Human-Computer Interaction Technology (IHCIT 2026) opened at Southwest Petroleum University. The conference brought together over 300 experts and scholars from domestic and international universities, research institutions, and enterprises to exchange ideas on cutting-edge fields such as intelligent machinery, human-computer interaction, and energy equipment.

During the plenary session, expert presentations covered multiple industrial sectors including manufacturing, energy, and robotics, eliciting an enthusiastic response from the audience. Professor Xianzhang Lei, academician of acatech – National Academy of Science and Engineering and professor at Southwest Petroleum University, delivered a keynote titled "Power-Hydrogen Synergy Technology and the Development of Intelligent Equipment" analyzing the transformation pathway of energy equipment under the "dual carbon" goals. Professor Linmao Qian, Vice President of Southwest Jiaotong University, shared the latest research on atomic-level manufacturing of complex-curved-surface metal components for high-end equipment, demonstrating the trend of manufacturing technology advancing toward extreme scales. Professor Hong Cheng from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China presented the progress of human-computer interaction technology based on brain-computer interfaces, illustrating the feasibility of machines proactively understanding human intentions. Additionally, Professor Jing Yao from Yanshan University, Professor Jianshe Gao from Zhengzhou University, and Professor Guorong Wang from Southwest Petroleum University also delivered plenary reports on topics including autonomous operation of hydraulic excavators, natural gait dynamics in low-gravity environments, and intelligent wellsite robots, respectively.

It was learned that the three-day conference will feature seven invited talks closely aligned with academic frontiers and industrial demands. Scholars from Chengdu University of Technology, Southwest Petroleum University, Xi'an Shiyou University, and other institutions will share their latest research findings on practical challenges in the oil and gas equipment sector, including pipeline robots, drill bit selection for complex formations, and intelligent coiled tubing operations. Industry representatives will showcase the engineering implementation of multi-robot coordinated systems in drilling pipe handling. Meanwhile, scholars from Monash University in Australia and the University of Haute-Alsace in France will bring international perspectives on frontier directions such as trustworthy multimodal learning and image security systems.

This conference not only showcases the latest theoretical advances in the fields of intelligent machinery and human-computer interaction, but also vividly demonstrates the limitless possibilities of frontier technologies such as artificial intelligence, brain-computer interfaces, and intelligent equipment in engineering practice. We look forward to IHCIT embarking on a new journey and joining hands with colleagues worldwide to co-create a brand-new blueprint for intelligent machinery and human-computer interaction technology!
